The two bridges, one historic and one new, represent one of only seven land crossings of the Colorado River for 750 miles.

Williams, Arizona - Route 66
Williams, Arizona, Gateway to the Grand Canyon, is a very picturesque mountain town with Route 66 as the Main Street!  Less than an hour from the Grand Canyon, Williams has so many things to do…the Grand Canyon Railway departs from the train depot for the Canyon every day. The town is nestled at the base of Bill Williams Mountain in one of the largest Ponderosa Pine Forests in the world and there are miles of hiking trails, fishing, horseback riding, and skiing.

Williams Main Street is one the best preserved stretches of the Mother Road in America.  Walk Main Street and you’ll find vintage neon on buildings that are preserved to their original character, lots of fun shops with Route 66 merchandise, restaurants that have the character of the Route 66 heyday of the 50’s, coffee shops, internet cafes, and fine dining.  Cowboys swagger through downtown and a gunfight breaks out every night right in the middle of the Mother Road April through October.

Bearizona - Williams, Arizona
Another place to check out if you are in the area - it gets a great rating!
Bearizona is a wildlife park, zoo and aquarium.  Web Site.

Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah

Bryce Canyon, famous for its worldly unique geology, consists of a series of horseshoe-shaped amphitheaters carved from the eastern edge of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. The erosional force of frost-wedging and the dissolving power of rainwater have shaped the colorful limestone rock of the Claron Formation into bizarre shapes, including slot canyons, windows, fins, and spires called "hoodoos".

Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada

Valley of Fire is Nevada’s oldest and largest state park, dedicated in 1935. Ancient trees and early man are represented throughout the park by areas of petrified wood and 3,000 year-old Indian petroglyphs. Popular activities include camping, hiking, picnicking and photography. The park offers a full-scale visitor center with extensive interpretive displays. Several group use areas are also available. The park is open all year. Valley of Fire State Park is six miles from Lake Mead and 55 miles northeast of Las Vegas via Interstate 15 and on exit 75.

 Hoover Dam

Hoover Dam, once known as Boulder Dam, is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between the US states of Arizona and Nevada.
This is the new bridge being built which has been completed now.

 Zion National Park

Designated in 1919, Zion is Utah's oldest national park. The park is known for its incredible canyons and spectacular views. Famous hikes including The Narrows, Subway, and Angels Landing attract adventure enthusiasts from around the world. Hiking possibilities are endless. With nearly three million visitors per year, Zion is Utah's most heavily used park.

It is so red here the tarmac roads even turn red.  When you see the Grand Canyon you look at it from a distance.  When you see Zion, you are IN the park and it is an amazing place to see.
